I bought this 2 years ago after reading the reviews and after trying all the cheaper ones. I now travel with it whether by car, by plane or by train, just anywhere my head needs to be straight when i fall asleep. I survive the long trips on the bus in Thailand.
1. You can inflate in 2 puffs. You can also deflate it very easily, and completely without having to struggle. And what you pay is for the design of the size of the nozzle and cap. The cap is a bit tricky to close it tight. But you can figure it our easily.
2. It doesn't smell like plastic. And you can take out the cover easily to wash it. It's also soft after many washes.
3. Don't get a size too small for your head. You need room to sink your head into.
I believe the people at Eagle Creek do test their products. It's always quality. It's lightly more expensive than other quality products but it's worth it. I never think i ever need to replace any of my eagle creek purchases until i lose them
